Have We Lost Ayni?

I was driving to my office yesterday when I noticed a little boy being escorted by a babysitter across the street to catch the bus for school. I thought about how much the parents probably paid this woman for what was probably less than an hour’s work – in our area, childcare is really expensive – […]

Massachusetts Ballot Question 3: Containment of Farm Animals: Preventing Cruelty or Needless Regulation?

Recently, the ASPCA reached out to me to see if I could help support Question 3 in Massachusetts. Personally, I was feeling pretty conflicted about the proposal, also known as The Massachusetts Minimum Size Requirements for Farm Animal Containment. I recently had Dr. Andrew Lenhardt on my podcast, talking about the intersection of functional medicine and traditional medicine practiced in the United States. During the show, we talked about how some practitioners can seem to take advantage of their vulnerable patients by ordering numerous, expensive tests and making a large profit off the supplements

What Would Happen if Everyone Stopped Eating Meat? An Open Letter to Vice and the Independent

Guest post by Caroline Watson I was really disappointed by two stories that came out earlier this year. First, the Independent posted, “Five things would happen if everyone stopped eating meat” claiming that this shift would end world hunger. The author happens to be the director of PETA. One month later, Vice put out,
