I love these bars for drawing directly on my paintings. The Artists’ Oilbar is a unique medium because it provides artists with greater buttery consistency and richness of oil color together with the freedom and directness of pastels or charcoal. Artists’ Oilbar is fundamentally different from oil pastels or oil crayons due to its unique formulation. They are produced by combining artists’ quality pigments with linseed or safflower oil, blended with specially selected wax. It offers an exciting and versatile way of painting and drawing – from sketching, to graffito effects, whether used on its own or with tube oil color. This starter set includes the following 6 colors: Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Medium, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine, Cerulean Blue Hue, Winsor Green (Yellow Shade), Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Ivory Black, Titanium White, and Colorless. The Colorless bar is the equivalent of linseed oil in traditional oil color, and is mostly used for blending and glazing colors directly on the canvas. It serves as a medium in solid form.
