Paleo Book Tour Roadie and Getting on Track for 2014

There’s lots to talk about so I figured I’d do one big blog post to lump together all that’s been happening lately. Last week, I attended a book signing at CrossFit Palo Alto along with Michelle Tam and Henry Fong of Nom Nom Paleo: Food for Humans, and Melissa Joulwan of Well Fed and Well Fed 2. We had a huge crowd with great questions, and I really enjoyed the energy of this gym – it seems like a great place to train!

I brought my 7 year old daughter Phoebe with me, who loves playing with Michelle’s kids. While Michelle did some work on Friday morning, Henry, the kids and I toured the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California. She really loves playing with the little O’s.

We also got a great tour of San Francisco. The highlight of course for Phoebe was driving down Filbert Street… 4 times!

 

 

The next day was the big book release party for Michelle and Henry. Lots of other authors and bloggers made an appearance, including: Julie Mayfield of Paleo Comfort Foods, Holly Woodcock of Holly Would if She Could, Stacy Toth of Paleo Parents, Danielle Walker of Against All Grain, and Arsy Vartanian of Rubies & Radishes and more. Phoebe made a little scrapbook of our adventure, here is my favorite page:

The next stop of the day was to drive over to Berkeley forChris Kresser’s book release party for Your Personal Paleo Code: The 3-Step Plan to Lose Weight, Reverse Disease, and Stay Fit and Healthy for Life.

I have learned so much from listening to his podcast and reading his blog. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of his book and am so thrilled with it’s contents, and how successful it already is! book-rendering-2

Instead of listing rules that you must follow, Kresser explains how to make better choices based on your specific situation. Depending on your goal, whether it’s weight loss, recovery from digestive distress, or depression, you’ll find specific advice on how to adjust the paleo diet to help you succeed.

What I also love is that he addresses lifestyle issues like sleep, stress management, personal connections, and play. I’m certain this book will be a bestseller and help thousands of people recover their health.

I’d like to also mention another incredible set of books that have recently hit the market. Diane Sanfillipo has authored The 21-Day Sugar Detox and companion cookbook just in time for everyone to get their act together for their New Year’s Resolutions. If you or a friend are having trouble with sugar and carb cravings, these books are the ticket out of the blood sugar roller coaster. Sanfillipo’s easy to follow plan and colorful graphics in the book make it simple to follow, even for the beginner.
