Kitchen Tools
As a cookbook author and mom, I've spend tons of time in the kitchen and have tried lots of different gadgets over the years. Check out some of my most loved tools.

Instant Pot 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, 6Qt
This sucker has been a game-changer for me. I can make homemade broth in 90 minutes, pulled pork in an hour, and beef stew in 30 minutes. I have no more excuses to order out. I use it for the pressure cooker function. Because it’s electric, you’ll have no worries leaving it to bubble away on your kitchen counter while you run errands. It comes in smaller sizes but I prefer this larger one. I guarantee you’ll love it!

Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet, 10.25-inch
Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet, 10.25-inch
I only use cast iron for my skillets. I own three sizes and this one is a great 10.25-inch, multi-functional skillet made in America by Lodge for frying on the stovetop or roasting in the oven. It retains heat well, which means a great sear on meat and it keeps food warm for a long time. I like buying these skillets pre-seasoned. Ditch your non-stick pans and give this one a try!

Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Round Griddle, 10.5-inch

Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet, 15-inch

Enameled Cast Iron Covered Casserole
Enameled Cast Iron Covered Casserole
This covered casserole dish is my favorite for making flavorful brisket or roasted chicken with tons of garlic. The porcelain covered enamel eliminates the need to season the cast iron. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. Available in blue if this red color isn’t your thing.

Bialetti 6-Cup “Moka” Espresso Maker
Bialetti 6-Cup “Moka” Espresso Maker
In Italy, they call this a “Moka” machine. I love how simple, easy and quick it is to make a strong cup of espresso with this inexpensive alternative to those fancy espresso machines that take up tons of room on your counter and end up breaking. Simply fill with water and grounds, then set on your stovetop to perk. For best taste, use low heat and don’t boil.

Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle
Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle
I’ve gone through a ton of electric tea kettles. This one is by far the best one. It has a concealed heating element which prevents mineral buildup. It has a keep warm function, heats to different temperatures (for you tea experts – green, oolong, black) and if it starts heating without enough water in the unit, the heater will automatically shut off to avoid damaging the heating element.

Victorinox 10-Inch Chef’s Knife
Victorinox 10-Inch Chef’s Knife
If you’re in search of a great chef’s knife that won’t break the bank, this one is it. It’s a great size, and one of the best reviewed on the market. These knives have renowned sharpness, and are hand made in Switzerland. The slip resistant handle is hygenic and dishwasher safe.

Mandoline Slicer
Mandoline Slicer
There are tons of more expensive mandolines on the market but this one works great! The standard flat blade cuts perfect slices which can be easily adjusted for thickness. The fine toothed blade will help you create elegant vegetable garnishes for professional looking meals. Great for carrots, radishes, or any other firm vegetable. The medium toothed blade is excellent for quick and easy uniform stir-fry pieces that will cook up in a flash. The coarse toothed blade can make chunky and crisp cuts of vegetable or fruits. Great for potatoes, onions, radishes, cucumbers, carrots, apples, peaches, etc.

Vegetable Spiral Slicer
Vegetable Spiral Slicer
I’ve been using a vegetable spiralizer for years and love it. You can spin zucchini into raw “noodles” and cover with your favorite pasta sauce. It also works great with many other vegetables like cucumbers, beets and even butternut squash. This model includes special bonus 3 Spiralizer recipes ebooks.

Kitchen Shears
Kitchen Shears
The great thing about these inexpensive kitchen shears is that you can take them apart for easy cleaning, and they’re also dishwasher safe. They are an indispensable part of my kitchen tool set. I use them for cutting meat as well as herbs. The serrated center area in the handle can open bottles and crack nuts.

Vegetable Peeler
Vegetable Peeler
I peel a lot of veggies and have found this peeler to be the best at the job. It’s easy to hold, swivels nicely to not only cut carrots but also “bumpy” vegetables like potatoes. When I have to do a large volume of peeling, my hand doesn’t get tired due to the ergonomic grip. This is a must have in my book.
